Personal Truth

Kid stuff. We were sixth graders. walking home from school my brother pointed to a bloody menstrual pad. He said it was a Vampire tea bag. Like I said, kid stuff.

After Katrina a lot of people moved, lived in motels, vacant condos. Everyone was on public assistance. We lived in a motel on I10. One room, one bed. We didn't have any money. My brother noticed a bloody pad in the trash can. He made fun of me, if I had prepared a Vampire tea bag.

I was not twelve.

I loved him. We lived the life of gypsies for a long time. My parents got jobs, we finished high school. My brother took off for the Marine Corp. I got a job, and took classes at the HCC. My brother didn't come home. Except to be buried. Whenever I get my period I think about him. I'm lost without him.

In a romantic relationship I'm very careful about disposing of my menstrual baggage.

Is hard to miss them so. Live your best and figure out how to be happy even joyous. Feel your Sorrow every 28 days. Honor your brothers life by living yours. I understand no random anonymous strangers words will ever fix this pain. There are people to talk to and share with. In the Immortal words of Roy Kent choose LOVE
