Taken Advantage Of
My husband was in grad school and we lived in an off campus housing for married students. One Saturday night our neighbors asked us over. We had a beer and he asked my husband if he wanted to trade wives. His wife looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. I shook my head at my husband, no. He said sure, looking at his wife.
It was worse than words can describe. But I kept my mouth shut and didn't fight. I left him the next day.
Some time later I ran into him and asked for a divorce. He said no, I had to sue him. I was young, I worked for him to go to school.
Five years later I was working as a secretary in a company. A manager from upstairs was in my boss' office. She was a woman in her thirties and he was older. They were talking about her husband, he worked for the utility company. She was telling him about how he treated her. He listened before answering. He had to be taught a lesson.
It was a few days before I put two and two together. She used her maiden name professionally. The man she was married to was my ex husband. And he was treating her bad too. I didn't tell her, not immediately. After I did, we talked about getting even. And we used that man to do it.
He was using my boss like he used me, except now he was in law school, she worked and he went to school. Supported. That's how I was sure it was him. Same behavior, different woman. He had gotten her into wife swapping. At first she said he didn't mind, but she did. That's what really pissed him off, the manager from upstairs.
What happened he never told us, he brought back the signed divorce papers. We never did stop being friends, she was very close to me. From time to time he visits, to collect what is owed to him. This time there is no wife swapping, he doesn't have to share with another man. He keeps us close and personal.
