This Women Thing Has Me At Wits End, But I Didn't Win The Lottery

Being the youngest sister I was spoiled. Then came reality. I went to college and I'm supposed to 'live' on what I make. I can't. I made the decision of getting together with a man who can afford me. Or course that means I have to show him why he married me. I spent some money for an outfit to go out for my mother's birthday. I got called on it, why am I always spending money? To be honest, I didn't think I was spending money, I put on his credit card.

Now I sit down with my sisters, the weekend is ruined because I didn't wear the outfit. I am told, again, live within your income. My mother confessed that's the way it was with our father. If he 'needed' a Jeep, buy it. If the wife 'needs' a pair of underpants, she is spending money unnecessarily. My older sister, who is the one that is most careful, just asks for permission, she got tired of being beat up asking for forgiveness.

There is a lesson here, for all of us, all women. If the husband doesn't see the value in what you want to buy, get permission. It's ok to beg, to withhold sex, to give him leftovers, until he gives into you. A woman does not think like a man, and frankly most things don't even go through the brain. I see it, I like it, I buy it. That's the reason I got married. He got married so he can get sex when he wants, he sits down to a hot meal, his house is decorated and comfortable, and his kids are taken care of. He works, that's his job. I don't think being a wife is less work than his. It's different. And its 50 50, but that's not how he sees it.

But I will take my sister's advise and ask for permission. I can't take the beating anymore when I ask for forgiveness.
