Babies Bring A Family Together

Happy wife, happy life. I was staying home because I could. My husband could afford me. With two kids, one in grade school one in pre K. Spa days, PTA volunteer, church, little league. My days were full. I had learned to cook, and do housekeeping.

My husband was working long hours, lots of traveling. His number one assistant, Marylin, was 29 , two years younger than me. I didn't worry, she was butch lesbian with a real pretty girlfriend. One of the guys. Then, she's pregnant. And my husband's responsible.

How? How can that happen? Jesus, what now?

Us wives, her pretty girlfriend and me, we clung to each other.

After a lot of hand wringing, we decided that my husband and I would adopt the baby. We intentionally, or maybe embarrassed, us wives avoided talking about how it happened. The baby bump was so obvious, Marylin is a small woman, like a pea on a straw. I was drawn to her belly, to bond with the baby.

Us wives grew closer and closer, friends? We spent time together, housework and cooking, child care and waiting for our significant others. Us wives carried the emotional burden. Getting ready for a new baby. We waited impatiently. Meantime we hugged her belly.

We got a boy, ten fingers and toes, she did great, made us a boy baby. Older brother and sister walked around like peacocks. And us wives, we agreed between us, maybe us wives should have a baby.
