Living Well Is The Best Revenge
She starts going out several nights a week. Something feels off. I follow her one night, and learn she's fucking her co-worker. I'm angry, but realize it's been over for a while anyway. Still feeling angry that she's lying to my face constantly, so decide to play the long game.
Focused more at work, became more productive, and got a promotion with more money. Convinced her to put the house in my name, and let me pay the bills from my account since I'm now earning more than her. She blindly agrees.
Spent the next year improving myself. Worked out consistently, ate better, and got in Thor level shape. Let my hair go naturally salt and pepper grey after fighting it for the past year. Relearned the piano and guitar after decades of not playing either. Read more. Visited galleries and museums more. Learned two new languages. Learned and become skilled in mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, and other "handy" tasks. Started getting more female attention than I ever had before combined. Politely turned them down since "I'm married".
Hit the one year mark. Divorced her. Everything is in my name, and I never cheated. She's got nothing, and cheated all year. I got everything I wanted in the settlement. Continued self improvement efforts.
Spent the next year travelling and fucking constantly, mostly co-workers and twenty-somethings who want to "try it with an older man". Wife's co-worker goes back to his wife, leaving her alone.
Now 45. Married to a 26 year old with three sons and a daughter together. Fitness junkie with a good salary. Ex-wife is a drunk who lives with her parents. Goes on social media rants about how she's a ten, who only gets approached by threes.
It didn't have to be this way. You should have just been honest that you didn't want to be with me anymore.
