Being the other woman has put me in the position of babysitting when her kids were young, nursing wife after hysterectomy, traveling across country accompanying daughter to look at a college she wanted to attend, supplanting wife on the board of the family foundation, Home Secretary, overnight vigil after husband back surgery, confidant and part time mother to daughter during teen anxiety.

Along the way I picked up a couple of hatchlings of my own, soon college age, bought a house with a generous bonus, been hither and yon, cross country, foreign capitals, certified as a CPA, joined the executive committee at the company, partnered by award in family business.
