Yes I Got Pregnant My First Time, And I'm Accused Of 'trapping' Him
But I never let him 'get in my pants'. I was scared. Really.
I went away to college and lived in a house with three other women. The dating scene at college was informal, and it wasn't strange at all to get up in the morning and some guy was there. But there were four of us, two of us had guys stay over and two of us never did. It was gross.
I was in my last semester six weeks from graduation when a guy got in my pants. It was at another apartment, a friend of his, after a party. It was a mix of seniors and grad students. It was unceremonious. He pulled my pants down and had sex with me on the floor between the couch and the coffee table. I had to stand up to pull my pants back up, with my friends watching me. I ran off to the bathroom and went into shock. I lost my balance and fell to the floor. I couldn't breathe. I was moving around like a fish out of water, knocking against the door and the walls. Until some of the guys got the door open and one of the girls came in to see what was going on. I had a 'seizure', but really I had an anxiety attack.
My also not sexually active roommate looked after me. Watching for signs. The big one being missing my period, which I did. She watched for other signs before taking me to the med clinic on campus. The doctor, a young guy, told me that it happened all the time, that's why so many girls got married right after graduation. It was not funny to me. He gave me these pamphlets on VD. Cause I didn't know him.
The topic came up, he was a year from finishing his grad work and I was graduating in May. I wasn't showing then, but I was pregnant, and we eloped before I went home for the summer. Originally I was going to be a teacher, and look for a job, but pregnant and married I had to wait to see what he did. My mother and aunt worked on me until I went down to do the name change.
I went back up to where my husband was and spent that year as a new mother and housewife. I thought I would be alone, but there were lots of women like me. Dozens and dozens. The word was that we got knocked up to trap a guy, as our only goal was an MRS degree. I never lived that down.
I worked some, but not much, my role was to make a home and make a family. That's what you did. From time to time I was asked how I caught my husband and reeled him in. Even years later that is the assumption people make when you get pregnant in college before graduation. It is all about the MRS degree.
