Double Embarrassment

I’m 43, married with two teenage children. I work for a small construction company as their receptionist.

Recently my husband was out of town working so when the rep for one of our suppliers invited me to have dinner I accepted.

I have never nor did I intend to ever have an affair but after dinner with a few drinks I found myself very attracted to him which he apparently sensed.

Dinner was at the hotel where he was staying so when he suggested we go to his room for a nightcap I mistakenly went.

It didn’t take long for us to have a few kisses finally ending up on the bed. I told him we couldn’t do anything but he unbuttoned my blouse playing with my breast which quickly got me aroused.

When I realized he was getting his penis out with his other hand I told him no but he rolled over between my legs pulled my panties aside starting in me. He got all the way in before I yelled for him to stop that I wasn’t on birth control so after a few seconds he pulled out. When he asked if he could use a condom I gave in.

A week or so later I had a rash in my private area so I went to the doctor. After his examination he told me I had chlamydia which he would prescribe an antibiotic for because i needed to get it cleared up since I was pregnant.

I told him I hadn’t missed my period because it wasn’t due for a couple more days but he said the test he had run indicated I was pregnant but could be a false positive. When my period was due it didn’t come so I took another test which again was positive.

Since my husband and I didn’t have sex during the month with him being out of town the only possible way I got pregnant was with the other guy even though he didn’t actually cum in me.

Now I have to hope I can avoid my husband realizing my due date doesn’t work out with our schedule. We didn’t have sex until after I was over a week late.

Erin, you did nothing wrong. Your husband didn't fuck you so this man was there to satisfy your needs. If it was only one time, it doesn't even count as an affair.

Men are pretty clueless about how gestational age is calculated, so it should be easy to convince your husband. Just say the baby is a bit premature.

I'm assuming the supplier rep is of the same race, so you'll be successful in passing the baby off as your husband's?

To everyone who reads this: If you are sexually active, you owe it to yourself to get regular STI testing, certainly once a year but possibly as often as every 3 months. Bite the bullet and set up a schedule with your regular doctor, so you'll get the results through your routine channel and have access to treatment, when you need it. If you are sexually active, appropriate testing will be covered by insurance. Community clinics, often focused on serving GLBT people, will also help at low or no cost.

Also review your vaccinations. You should have the HPV, Hep A, and Hep B vaccines at minimum. People at high risk should also have the meningitis and Mpox vaccines.

Consider PrEP to definitely protect yourself from HIV (works for men and women). If you have a high STI risk, consider doxy-PEP (studied in men, doctors might be willing to prescribe it for women at high risk, though not during pregnancy or when trying to conceive). Bottom line: talk to your medical provider about your real sexual habits.

Relationships can't protect you against STIs. Medical care can!

Chlamydia, diagnosed and treated in reasonable time, won't do any harm to a woman or man, but in this case, it could have harmed the fetus.

You should tell your husband the truth, without the games you played in your post. You went out with a man while your husband was away. You had drinks. You went to his hotel room. Take some accountability and at least respect your husband enough to tell him you betrayed him.

I gave a like immediately above because I believe all views should be aired, even the ones I disagree with.

Erin is the victim here, three times over. She needed sex but her husband wasn't there. She needed a man to take precautions because she was fertile, but the customer rep didn't care. She needed a man to be free of STIs to protect her future baby, but the customer rep. hadn't been tested. She has nothing to account for. She deserves sympathy, not blame.

Telling her husband wouldn't change anything, except to give him doubts. Let him be happy as the couple welcome a new bundle of joy! Erin needs to focus on the baby without putting herself at risk of a stress-induced miscarriage.

A small amount of precum is all it takes, even though he wore a condom he may have spilled a little. from what I read you became aroused by this man and gave in to your sexual desires, I don't know what you can tell hubby particularly if the man does not have physical traits of resemblance as the child grows hope all works out

Why don't you get an abortion and avoid having to live a lie?
