I Consider Fur Babies My Real Children

I never understood women who referred to pets as fur babies.

Then, my wife had a series of miscarriages and carried a healthy child to term, only to have it die, completely unexpectedly, a month after birth.

She can't have any more children due to the physical and emotional trauma. It has affected our marriage. Of course I don't blame her; no one knows why miscarriages happen. But she is always sad, and she feels a part of her purpose is unachieved if she isn't looking after a child.

I bought her a kitten for her birthday. I'd like to say it was my plan for saving our marriage, but I hadn't bought her anything and then I passed an adoption event and fell in love.

Well, my wife has taken to that kitten and we have added three more. All of a sudden she smiles and laughs, and she has started giving me sex again, which she hadn't been able to do after our child died. Even oral and swallowing now!

If it helps for her to consider pets as fur babies, now I am all in favor!
