If It's Not One Man It's Another

We had a break in over lunch at our offices, some purses were rifled, a couple of lap tops stolen. It gave me an unsafe feeling, the building management played it down and did nothing. That same evening a woman was r**ed in a stairwell. Still nothing.

I complained to a coworker and he told me he felt it was an inside job, someone in the building. He added as a second thought, not to stay alone, use the stairways, be caught in the basement parking. He walked me to my car after work. Followed me home, that was unexpected. At my apartment he talked his way in, and pushed himself on me.

I went to a friend from my old job. He would do something. He got a forced confession, both sexual assaults, not the break in. That was a diversion. He pretty much ordered me to quit that night, don't go back. He had me stay at his place, and went hunting. When he returned he took matters into his own hands and I allowed it.

The perpetrator was arrested, he preferred not to press charges. The woman in the stairwell identified him. As to the noon distraction, he was paid to do it. And I have spent a lot of my time on my back lately.
