When I was 7 or 8, we lived in a semi-detached council house and the girl next door was a year older than me. I had early bedtimes and Icould hear Dora (not real name) and her friends laughing and talking in the back garden. My bedroom was upstairs at the backand I climbed out of bed to watch them. Just then, Dora's mother opened the back door and asked what they were doing. Naturally they split up and said, 'nothing' and her mother said it was time for her friends to go home as it was Dora's bedtime. I never did get to see up their skirts, but it made me realise I had something that girls were interested in
