Well, apparently you all came out of it no worse for wear.
Just think, the terrible old man could have put some drug in your drinks.
Then he could have kidnapped you and told your new husband that you ran away while he was passed out.
Then he could have kept you prisoner in one of those basement torture chambers we hear about increasingly these days where people are held, sometimes for years, while a psycho torments and molests them!
