So on Thanksgiving night we hear a knock at our door. We open it and there standing in cold wind is one of our neighbors. She is willing to give us 5 dollars if we take to pick up 15 dollars from someone else.

Ours isn't running great, plus it's Thanksgiving so we say, "No." But I loan her the 15 bucks.

The next morning she comes over and gabs. Cool. She asks if by any chance we found the money outside that we loaned her. It seems that she managed to lose it in the 100 feet from our places to hers. I say, "No." and that I am sorry to hear that.

I could tell that she was fishing for me to loan her some more money. I did NOT volunteer to do so.

She goes away.

She comes back. This time with a mink stole. It's real nice. She wants to sell it me. I do not buy it. I have no need, or want for such a thing. I do NOT buy it.

A month goes by. She doesn't come back. I guess she figured out that I wasn't as big a sucker as she hoped for.

She still hasn't paid us back.

Now she wants 40 bucks. It's some kind of emergency to help get her husband home from rehab and that she assures me that I will get the money back in a couple of days and that she has not forgotten that she still owes me.

I say, "No." again.

I hope to get her husband to some work for us. In this way she will pay back what she owes us.

She is a waste of flesh. At least she had no children.
