It sounds like you're doing as good a job as humanly possible. Don't give in because it'll be like feeding a cat. They'll just keep coming back for more.
Tell them that you need absolute peace and quiet because you're studying (or something) and that it's your policy not to loan/drive/lend etc. and that you don't have any extra money.
And start looking for another place to live, preferably one that will let you spend a night (weekends are best when the neighbors are home) to get an idea what the neighborhood is like.
Stand firm honey =)
Unfortunately, most trailer parks suck. It's cheap to live there, and this is the sort of clientele you get.
My in-laws live in an area intended for older, retired people, and if it was just that type of person who stayed there, everything would be fine. But, some of the older people have their younger, freeloading kids/grandkids etc. move in with them.
The once nice, quiet neighborhood is slowly going to shit because no good, druggie, SSI abusing, freeloading creeps move in with Grandma. They don't work, they don't even watch their kids. All they do is sit around, eat, drink, smoke, screw, and do drugs.
We've begged my in-laws to just move, but they won't get much for their house if they sell. Who wants to live next to that?
log a complaint with the cops.... that is the only way for relief until the next lease renewal..
Thank you all for the support. All of you are 100% correct. I finally said something to the landlord and before I even told him what was wrong he asked if I was being harrassed for money. Apparently they've been harrassing him too. He's supposed to talk to them to tell them to stay away from my trailer but it probably won't do much good. The same neighbor on the left came over AGAIN yesterday to bum a ciggarette. My husband was about to give her one until I realized what was going on, jumped up and ran to the door. I told her I'm sorry we don't have any and she just kinda stared at me like she couldn't understand what I was saying. I stood my ground, smiled and closed the door. She moved on to the next trailer. Our lease isn't up until Jan. so hopefully they'll get evicted before then. They already owe the landlord money (of course) After reading some of these stories on here I feel a lot better. It could be WAY worse lol. And after reading some of these stories I'm not gonna be afraid to go outside anymore. If they approach me again I just plan on making up some scary strange stories (like they do) and some outrageous excuse as to why I can't do whatever they're asking. Might as well have some fun with these losers while I can right? lol I can pick my nose and scratch myself with the rest of em! lol By the time I'm done there will be rumors about me that spread so far NO ONE will want to knock on my door! lol and perhaps when they stop coming over to beg for stuff I'll just go knock on their door and ask for money from them lol Wouldn't that be a hoot! Thanks again for the support and hopefully my problems with crazy neighbors will be over soon :) Oh and one question, who thinks it would be a good idea to snitch on the drug dealers? Should I just keep to myself on that one?
Move, THEN snitch on the dealers. That way they can't take revenge on you.
You can tell the idiot neighbors that you have a terrible disease, then make up some kind of name like pernicious scabosa. When they ask what it is, just let your eyes tear up a little, then give a little twitch and make an inappropriate laugh. Tell them that the doctors are trying to figure out exactly how contagious it is before they send you to the "scabosa colony" or some other B.S. Tell them the medicine that you take for it gives you greasy anal discharge and give your buns a little scratch. Say that you can get it from sitting on a car seat =)
Or anything else you think you can pull off. See if they still ask to sit in your car or borrow anything else from you. Just have a good time with it!
Good luck!
