I never had a chance to vent about a roomate i had... who i still would like to stalk down and hurt.
A couple of years ago, a "good" roomate and I were looking to upgrade our apartment living and I found a wonderful 3 bedroom house to rent. The owner (a minister and an architect) was moving out of state and had almost finished remodeling the house. I convinced him I would finish it for him for a discount on rent (as I had many years of home improvement under my belt from working with my dad). Rent was still relatively high, so we agreed on a 3rd roomate (who happened to live across the hall from our previous apt). After weeks of painting and landscaping (until 2AM sometimes - without help from the other roomates), we finally moved in and immediately the new roomate (we will call BRASS started making demands. He "required" the master bedroom etc etc. Apparently, BRASS was totally neurotic and proceed to board up all the windows, and hide all his belongings in his bedroom (with padlock). We're not just talking golf clubs and stereo equipment, it was silverware, pots and pans, dishes, food... everything. Too piss me off more, he would sneak behind me when i was in another part of the house and turn all the lights off and the heat off. Really fucking weird shit.
Eventually, he ended up stealing my "good" roomates girlfriend after weeks of late night phone conversations. I swear i wanted to KILL him... and couldnt even understand why a 35 year old professional would act this way. He for some reason just loved it... and would not move out (unfortunately I put his name on the lease because the owner was concerned with rent payments). Finally after only 3 months, i had to break the lease for all of us (and forfeit $2000 down payment for my sanity. The whole time, my "good" roomate just turned his back and wouldnt do or say a thing... even though he was deeply involved and even lost his girlfriend over it! I thought i was in total hell.
Well, that experience drove me to over extend myself and buy a house and take a better job... it was the best thing i could have done. I caught up and now have moved to a beautiful 5 bedroom house. Those fuckers are still single and living in apartments too... i love it. I sometimes wish i could beat the piss out of them and get away with it... but that would make me no better than the white trash neighbors everyone is complaining about here.
