Porn has become part of my husband's foreplay routine. I admit that it stimulates me, but I am trying to be a better Christian and want to stop because I believe the women in these films are often exploited. Unfortunately, the more reluctant the girl looks, the more excited I get. (I know I'm sick). Everytime, I try to turn the tv off, my husband lures me back in. How can I tell him that I don't want to watch porn anymore.

I'm a man and I agree with you about hard core pornograhy.
It's just filmed prostitution.

There are couples - mainly on the Internet now - who tape themselves having sex and trade with like minded couples.
If seeing others having sex turns you on, then you might browse some amateur sex sites such as showmeyourwife.com.
See if any of the photographs which are posted there turn you on.
If so, then contact the particular couples about exchanging photos or videos.

I don't think consensual voyeurism is un-Christian.
I think this substitution will go over better with your husband than you just putting your foot down and refusing to tolerate his 'vice' anymore.
You'll both enjoy the participatory nature of amateur erotica more than passively watching professional pornography.

What is worse, the pornographer, or the audience?

My sentiments exactly, they wouldn't make the shit if no-one looked at it.
Ditto the paparazzi, if no-one bought those shitty gossip mags they'd be out of a job.

I am the original poster and appreciate the first reply. I don't think that is exactly what I'm looking for. We've already talked about taping ourselves and I'm just not interested in seeing myself that way or having others see my genitals. I actually want to quit porn all together if possible.

I find it hard to quit things (it took 6 tries to quit smoking). And my husband won't be supportive.

Its going to be even harder to quit if quitting dulls your sex life, and if that happens it may even end your marriage. As long as the "porn stars" are of legal age I personally see nothing wrong.

Ugggh! Are you people not listening? The woman wants to quit watching porn. She isn't looking for excuses to keep watching.

If she wanted to quit smoking, would you tell her that she should keep it up because her husband enjoys smoking and you don't think it's a bad habit?

I'm the writer of the Ist response which you appreciated.
I guess your situation is more complicated than I had thought.
Remember that you become aroused by this porn you want to stop watching and that your husband seems to find it good for his libido.
After a couple have been together for a long time, sex can get pretty boring.

I suggest trying the usual things: dressing up in costume, romantic dinners, getaway trips for the 2 of you.
If you've tried these and they don't do the trick, then you might try the video exchange I suggested.

Maybe your problem is that you think pornography or salaciousness of any type are wrong.
Most of our customs regarding sexuality are not based on Christian teaching, so they cannot be the final arbiters of right and wrong.
If there's a conflict in you between what you were raised with and what you deeply feel turned on by, then I think it's up to you to decide which you will use as your standard of behavior.

This is not like quitting smoking in that it's not at all clear that erotica is bad for anyone - except children.
Furthermore, if your problem was smoking and your husband refused to stop, then you could insist he do it outside or in only one room of the house.
However, with sex, you probably don't want your husband to do it outside of the house (more particulary, outside of the marriage)!

Since you ARE turned on by it, I honestly don't think you can fairly ask him to give up the porn if you're not willing to try any related activities.
However, you really have to have a sit down with him to discuss this matter completely.
If he just doesn't find simple intercourse with you stimulating enough for him, then you both have some real decisions to make.

Good luck with it and let us know what happens.

Are your eyes in his head or yours? If in yours like I suspect, turn your head the other way.

WExcuse me, aren't YOU listening? She wnats to quit watching porn becasue of christian guilt, and societal tabooand an unjustified feeling that the women are exploted. Which are probalby the same reasons it admittedly turns her on. Sounds like she doesn't have a problem with porn, but with religion. Loosen up, watch the porn already. You like it, hubby likes it, no one gets hurt-just enjoy yourself.
