I was a wearer. I thought I was holding my stockings up.
I was a wearer until pantyhose became readily available and at the time was only too pleased with not having to bother with hoisting up stockings with garters which could be damned uncomfortable at times. As a teenager at that time I did not realise the appeal that they had to the red blooded male population so never allowed any peeks. Shame because now I am too old for anyone to want to look.
I am a woman "of the times" 33 and when I was 25 I wanted to finish off a cocktail dress with flesh coloured fishnet stockings and had to buy a garter belt to go with it.
I got a lot of comments about the fish nets and for the right guy I let slip the split of the skirt so that he saw the garter belt - his reaction was very satisfying!
